Union City is a village in the states of Ohio and Indiana. The village is located on the Ohio and Indiana state borders and is situated in both Dark County, Ohio and Randolph County, Indiana. The portion of Union City that is located in Ohio has a population of about 1,600 people. Union City, Indiana has a population of about 3,500. Union City, Ohio was incorporated in 1838. In 1849, Union City, Indiana was platted.

There are several attractions located in Union City. The Indiana portion of the village is home to several local businesses and attractions such as Oak Street Antiques, The Art Hub, and Union City Preservation Society Museum. Ghyslain Chocolatier is located on the Indiana side of Union City and is a tourist hot spot. The chocolate factory offers delicious treats and tours. Also, located not far from Union City is historic Winchester Speedway. The speedway is located in Winchester, Indiana and is known as the World’s Fastest ½ Mile. Another attraction located nearby is the Great Darke County Fair. The fair takes place in Greenville, Ohio and features livestock shows, harness racing, tractor pulls, a country and western show, and much more. The fair takes place in August and is one of the largest agricultural fairs in Ohio.

Union City experiences warm, humid weather during the summer and cold, wet weather during the winter. Temperatures during the warmest months of the year in the village do not often climb above 90 degrees. However, Union City is not immune to heat waves.
