Bolyards celebrates its 40th year of business in 1999.
Don Bolyard started his business in 1959 working out of his home. By 1967 his business had grown so large he moved it to its present location on Sweitzer St. in Greenville. In 1989 his daughter Lisa became an active participant in the company.
Bolyard Sales and Service installs Carrier heating and air conditioning units. According to Lisa Bolyard Herron "Carrier is the number one furnace and air conditioning manufacturer in the world." Bolyards received the Carrier Dealer Leadership Appreciation Award in the past in recognition of their Charter membership in the Carrier Dealer Leadership Program.
The family owned business has five technicians for service and installation and 24-hour service. The staff can design heating and air conditioning for the customer and although Bolyards installs Carrier products, they are equipped to service other makes and models. The company specializes in installing air conditioners, heating units, commercial refrigeration units, air purification units, hot water heaters, Geothermal ground source units, boilers, and ice machines to residential, commercial and industrial customers. In 1997 duct cleaning of homes and businesses was begun. Introduced in 1998 by Carrier is Puron "the environmentally sound refrigerant" and is available with new units purchased at Bolyard, who is also EPA certified for refrigerant usage.
